It's sooo nice out but the rain will be back soon.

We've been taking advantage of the sunshine, or in the event of cloud cover, the simple fact we didn't need to wear a coat.  We've hiked, walked, played and so much more.  Most days miss Alice and I were out at least twice and we've covered a lot of km's this week!

Some photos, just because.  Yes, Alec is fearless, just in case you didn't know that.

My poor neglected blog.

I still don't have a new computer and my time on Josh's is limited so this poor blog is not getting the attention it deserves.  By the time I load photos and catch up with current events on FB and then check out a few of my favourite websites I get kicked off which means no blogging from me.  This post is just going to be a quick photo catch up and hopefully I'll be up and running on my own computer again soon.  Don't feel sorry for me..I could get a pc immediately but I'm trying to decide if I should hold out for a Mac, which is pretty much all I've ever used.

Anyways.... here goes!

Pictures taken at various locations including Courtcliffe park, Eramosa Karsts and the woods in behind our court:).

Two besties and one great cause.

As many of you know, our new baby girl was rescued from sure death on the streets of Afghanistan by her angel Fred Armitage who took her in, nursed her back to health and arranged partial funding for her trip to Canada.  Another organization and their wonderful members also helped with Alice's funding (this was all before I even knew of her existance), called the Puppy Rescue Mission.

The Puppy Rescue Mission was formed by Anna Cannon to help soldiers bring home dogs (some of them heroes themselves) that they have bonded with while in Afghanistan.  If you have a moment, check out their site, www.thepuppyrescuemission.org and read some of the stories.  Some of them are heartbreaking, some of them are horrid, but many of them are wonderful stories of animals who have helped keep a smile on the faces of the soldiers in horrible conditions.

Before A. went to Florida we ordered a TRPM sweatshirt with the Canadian design to support this great cause and much to his excitement it arrived yesterday.  He couldn't wait to put it on and posed for a few shots while wearing it on our walk with my sister and her puppies last night. I love these photos of my two favourite monkeys.  Don't worry, we still love our Sadie girl too!

Some of you may be saying there are many unwanted dogs in Canada and the US who need homes, why bring one all the way from Afghanistan and I would totally agree with you.  I'm not a soldier who bonded with an animal.  I am an animal lover who had been looking for a new pup to join our family for a while though.  Through a friend (Kristi Wright) I heard about Alice.  Fred had no intentions of rescuing another dog, but he saw an Afghani citizen taking a shot at her and stepped in.  Over time he nursed her back to health and fell in love with her, but he had two dogs at home already and needed a home for her.  He had commited to bring her back to Canada.

I was hesitant to commit to a dog I didn't know but I asked a lot of questions and talked to some of the people who had also provided homes for some of these dogs.  When Fred made me promise to give her back to him if things didn't work out for any reason, I knew that I had to try.  Things have worked out better than I hoped and you know we love this little girl as does everybody that meets her .

Lincoln and Alice... it's good to have friends!

The beautiful weather in Southern Ontario continued today and so Alice and I arranged to meet some friends at a local park.  It was only a little muddy but otherwise perfect and everyone had a great time.
